Hedge Fest, a non-profit one-day alternative music event, was established in 2024 in memory of punk rocker, musician, artist, and tattooist Gary “Hedge” MacDonald, who succumbed to lymphoma cancer.
Our inaugural event, held in Elgin, Moray, aimed to raise awareness of lymphoma cancer and funds for Lymphoma Action UK. It was a resounding success, raising over £1000.
Following the event’s success, there were requests to continue the festival. The event organiser was contemplating this possibility. However, a tragic event a few months after the event, resulting in the sudden loss of her mother, initially halted any plans. After taking time to heal and careful consideration, Hedge Fest was decided to have a second event in September 2025. The 2025 event will focus on raising awareness and funds for both the Natalie Kate Moss Brain Haemorrhage Trust and Lymphoma Action UK.
No one should have to die alone, no one should have to fight cancer alone and no one should not be aware they have it when there is help, treatments, support and chance of survival.
